Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints.

Osteopathy is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together. Osteopaths use physical manipulation, stretching and massage with the aim of:
โข increasing the mobility of joints
โข relieving muscle tension
โข reducing pain
โข enhancing the blood supply to โssues
โข helping the body to heal
โข They use a range of techniques, but not medicines or surgery
โข In the UK, osteopathy is a health profession regulated by UK law
What will the treatment involve?
Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your bodyโs own healing mechanisms. We also provide advice on posture and stretching/strengthening exercises for you to do between treatments to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

โI had a nasty fall from a horse which left me in agony and unable to move, sit or lie comfortably. I aโended for a course of treatments and following a thorough assessment at each session and a personal strengthening exercises to follow I am (possibly foolishly) back in the saddle! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the proprietor of Angel Yard Osteopaths. A friendly and professional service.โ

โI found Kirsty by chance having developed a leg/back pain. She sorted me out in no time. Since then Iโve been back with more difficulties – so I must have been satisfied! Kirsty provides very clear analysis to you about your problems, she has a great sense of humour and effective treatment style. Iโd recommend her to others.โ

โKirsty is my first port of call for any back or knee problems. She has worked wonders with my back, regular treatments have eased the pain
and stiffness considerably. Sheโs also friendly and approachable and puts people at ease which is very important for any practitioner.โ
