A bevvy of local beauties and half a dozen local fellers reveal all (almost) in aid of raising money for cancer charities.

Liz Wells, front left in photo above, decided to do something worthwhile, fun and special to raise awareness and funds to help Cancer UK in its quest to ๏ฌnd ways to beat the disease.
Hereโs what she told me about the project:
โMy late husband Rog Wells and I have been Cancer Research UK (CRUK) fundraisers since 2015 and to date we have raised ยฃ24,170. Sadly, Rog lost his battle with bowel cancer on 11th June 2020. I decided to organise a cheeky calendar in aid of CRUK. I plan to sell them for ยฃ10 each to potentially raise ยฃ10,000.
Our photoshoot took place on Father’s Day at Sixhills Farm in Melton. It was important to me to involve friends who had been touched by cancer in one way or another. Therefore my group of models included those who had lost husbands, wives, other relatives or friends, had survived cancer themselves or were currently living with cancer. I also wanted a mix of ages, gender, sizes and shape.
Thankfully it was a hot and sunny day, in fact too hot sometimes. Huge thanks to Swithland Spring Water for supplying us with two cases of water to keep us hydrated and to the incredibly talented photography students and hair & beauty students from Leicester College. Thanks to Karen (Miss August) who provided hot drinks and sandwiches and to all the men who helped as runners on the day, as well as taking part in the calendar. I’d also like to give special thanks to Terence Stokes, my lovely farmer friend, who allowed us to use his farm as our venue, whilst he continued to carry on farming, which can’t have been easy.โ
