A Message From David Newcombe

Managing Director, Right at Home Loughborough

David Newcombe

As we begin a new year, it feels like the right moment to pause and reflect on the changing landscape of care at home, and on the role we play within it here at Right at Home Loughborough.

Care is a sector that never stands still. The way services are delivered continues to evolve, shaped by the needs of the people we support, the councils we work alongside, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who oversee and regulate our work. Over recent years, we have also faced significant financial pressures. Rising minimum wage levels and increases in National Insurance contributions have had a real impact on the cost of delivering care responsibly and sustainably.

Despite these challenges, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. We are now supporting more people than ever before to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. We are delivering more care hours each week, employing more skilled, committed full-time staff, and continuing to grow in a way that puts quality first.

This commitment was recognised once again when we were awarded the Right at Home Uk platinum Circle of Trust Award for the second year running. Out of 86 Right at Home franchises across the UK, we are the only office to have achieved this honour two years in a row — a testament to the dedication, professionalism and values of our entire team.

But awards, while appreciated, are not why I chose this line of work.

Long before the pandemic, personal experience showed me just how important it is to be cared for by experienced, compassionate professionals in your own home when life becomes more challenging. The difference that good care makes is profound — not only for the individual receiving support, but for their entire family. Peace of mind, dignity, reassurance and continuity matter deeply, and they remain the reason we do what we do.

I believe that what truly sets Right at Home Loughborough apart is our shared ethic. From myself as Director, to Claire as our Registered Manager, through our supervisors and right across our care team, we are united by the same belief: that every visit matters, every person matters, and every day is an opportunity to make life better in whatever way we can.

Care is not just a job. It is a responsibility, a privilege, and for many of us, a way of life.

As we move into 2026, I want to thank our clients and families for placing their trust in us, and our incredible team for the commitment and compassion they show every single day. Together, we will continue striving to provide care that truly makes a difference.

All the best

David Newcombe
