Walking at the West Leake Hills

Walkingโ€”West-Leake-HillsDownload
West Leake Hills

Sponsored by HS Foot Care Services

4 3/4 Miles 2 Hours
Post Code: LE12 5RP

Park considerately on the roadside in West Leake village. No facilities.
The beginning of the walk can be found if you have the church on your right
and walk to where the road bears right and then you are at point 1.

  1. Walk down to the eastern end of the village; as the road bears right keep left/ahead up the signposted bridleway. On the level ground follow the track left at the signpost and bear left on the more substantial farm driveway to the junction of tracks at the trees.
  2. Turn left, along the lesser track and continue between the hedge and the golf course, right of the conifer wood. Keep straight on with the trees to the left to the signpost at the corner of the trees on the right.
  3. Turn sharp left along the ๏ฌeld edge with the hedge to the right, through the gate at the end and turn right, to the marker post. Bear left on the narrow path through the trees, down to the marker post where the trees end.
  4. Take the track left with the trees still to the left. At the marker post at the boundary turn right along the farm road; after 600yds, at a marker post turn left. Walk up the farm track with the hedge to the right, through the gap at the end and bear right for 40yds. Follow the farm road left between ๏ฌelds, upslope at the end and turn right to the trees.
  5. Turn left, over the hump of the hill, past the pond and left in the corner. Follow the path right and keep ahead down the enclosed path, leading right, back to the bridleway entrance at the west end of the village.
