Jane Hunt MP for Loughborough

It is with great pleasure I can confirm that Soar Valley residents will now have a bus service throughout the week!

I recognise how important a bus service is to local residents, which is why I have been working hard, ever since the loss of the No2 service, to reinstate it, or find an alternative.

So, it is fantastic news for residents that both Centrebus and Vectare have announced new services covering the whole of the Soar Valley, Barrow, Sileby, and then going on to Leicester.

The two companies will provide services at different times of the day which will go to Leicester. This is not a perfect solution, however I hope that when bus providers see that there is a demand, then they will be keen to expand their current offer.

I would like to thank the many residents who completed my survey about bus services in the area. There were nearly 500 replies. I encourage you all to use the new services whenever possible. This is a commercial service, not subsidised, so it does need to be sustainable over time. Please do support the service if you can.

Recently, we celebrated ยญ in many different ways, across Loughborough ยญ a historic event: the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. From street parties to public viewings, there was something for everyone in the Constituency. However, Humphrey Perkins School in Barrow Upon Soar certainly impressed with their inventive commemoration.

I was delighted to have been invited to help bury their Coronation Time Capsule which included, among other things: a letter which I was very pleased to have written as the local MP, a current school timetable, pictures of students from the school as well as ties and lanyards which are part of the school uniform.

The school has a fantastic community which I was very pleased to join to mark this special occasion. How did you celebrate the
Coronation? It would be fantastic to hear about it, just as I have heard about and seen many fantastic events that took place across Loughborough over
the period.
