(Meralgia Paresthetica)
In partnership with Angel Yard Osteopaths

Nerves inside your body are responsible for activating your muscles. To do this effectively, the nerves need to pass over, around, through and under bones, joints and muscles.
Trauma, pressure and swelling can cause narrowing of the pathways of the nerves, and so pain and numbness can occur. The causes of burning thigh pain include a trapped nerve in the spine, a hip joint problem, trochanteric bursitis (a swelling on the outside of the hip) or referred pain from the sacroยญ iliac joint (located between the spine and pelvis). Burning thigh pain can occur anywhere around front, inside or outside part of the thigh. The pain can travel below the knee.
Osteopaths can diagnose and treat this condition with manual therapy, exercise advice and general lifestyle advice.
