It’s been great to meet so many of you at fairs, events, and on the doorstep over the past year. For those I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, I’m Jeevun Sandher; I’m standing to be your Labour MP because, despite the difficulties of today, I remain hopeful and determined. Hopeful about the prosperous, greener future we can build. And determined to help deliver it.
I’ve dedicated my life to delivering a better future for families. I’m an Economist with a PhD who has worked at the Treasury and in Somaliland. I’ve also taught children in our schools.
Life is difficult and expensive right now. Nothing seems to work. I don’t have a magic wand I can wave to fix everything overnight. But we can turn this country around. What I and the Labour Party offer is competent government, concrete steps, and a detailed plan to turn our nation around.
To get your bills down, we’d invest in home insulation and more affordable homegrown renewables. That will also help reduce our planetburning carbon emissions.
To get wages rising, we’d invest in infrastructure, skills, and a Green Industrial Revolution. Investing in green industries and exporting those goods abroad makes us more prosperous and gets global emissions down.
To get our NHS working again, we’d rebuild and reform it. Rebuild by training 7,500 more doctors & 10,000 more nurses every year, as well as paying for overtime to get waiting lists down. Reform by putting more focus on communitybased prevention.
To protect the planet now and for future generations, we are going full speed ahead on Net Zero. Getting to 100% clean energy by 2030 is the cornerstone of our green mission.
To make our communities safer, we’d hire more police with dedicated neighbourhood patrols.
