It is fantastic to see so many youngsters joining guiding in our local area recently. I’m sure that they are having a fabulous time making new friends and joining in the activities run by our amazing volunteers.

To keep up with how many girls want to join some of our local units we need more volunteers to help out – we have opportunities available supporting all our sections:
- Rainbows aged 4-7 years old
- Brownies aged 7-10 years old
- Guides aged 10-14 years old
- Rangers aged 14-18 years old
If you have recently moved into the local area, then volunteering with guiding is a fantastic way to make new friends and of course have fun doing different things each week – no two weeks at our meeting will ever be the same!
Alternatively, if you are looking to improve your CV ready to apply for work in (or studying for a qualification in) childcare etc then volunteering with us helps to develop the skills that you will need to show in an application form. Full training in first aid and safeguarding are provided for Girlguiding volunteers.

You don’t need to be able to volunteer every week and if you would prefer a supporting role that isn’t directly helping with weekly meetings, we always welcome help with admin tasks and other behind the scenes tasks.
If you would like to join us as a volunteer (you don’t have to have any previous experience) then visit https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/register-your-interest/
